Veterans honored in Wausau

Veterans gathered today to reflect on the times they served.

The VFW in Wausau hosted the soldier celebration. The dignitaries included a police officer who served in the Wisconsin National Guard.

The ceremony featured a 21 gun salute and a wreath to honor the veterans. Speakers say veterans day is about service to our country.

"These are the people who built this country, these are the people who defended this country who were asked like I said these are ordinary people who were asked to do extraordinary things," said Wausau Police Officer, David Prokop.

About 150 people, including veterans and their families, attended the ceremony.
