Indoor farmers market coming to Wausau


With the colder temperatures setting in local growers are finding new ways to sell their produce.

That's why Wausau area farmers are putting on an indoor farmer's market.

The Wausau Winter Farmer's Market begins this weekend. The market willfeature fall vegetables, fruits, meat and bakery items. Organizerssay all the items are locally grown and will be a big help to thecommunity.

"It's great local produce that's produced in our community. It's healthy,whole foods that people can access directly, it improves access tothose things," explained Tony Schultz, organizer of the farmer'smarket. "It's a dollar spent in our community and that has amultiplier effect."

Themarket will also feature a weekly brunch and live music. It will beopen every Saturday through the month of April from 8 am to 12 pm. It's located on 212 River Drive in Wausau.
