Employees file lawsuit against Wausau company

Two employees at the West Corporation Wausau facility have filed a lawsuit against the company, according to a news release.

In the lawsuit, the employees claim they were required to do work off the clock, and so were other co-workers.

The lawsuit states the employees were required to log on to their computers and start up computer applications and programs while they were off the clock. The employees say this took between five to 20 minutes or more.

The lawsuit was filed on November 6. According to the news release, the employees are asking for reimbursement of their unpaid wages and injunctive relief.

According to the lawsuit, the employees claim more than 100 employees may have been affected by the practices at the company's Wausau facility.

Newsline 9 reached out to West Corporation in Wausau for comment Friday evening, but no one was available.

West Corporation is a call center that handles sales for other companies.
