A large storm system plowing across the region has sparked a November severe weather outbreak across portions of the western Great Lakes and lower Midwest.

As of 9:34 p.m., the Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service has had at least 505 storm reports including 80 tornado reports, 385 high wind reports and 40 hail reports.

Most of Sunday's tornadoes touched down in areas of eastern Illinois and western Indiana. Wind reports have originated from extreme southern Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, lower Michigan, Ohio Kentucky, West Virginia and western New York.

Early on Sunday, the impending storm system responsible for today's tornadoes prompted the Storm Prediction Center to issue a high categorical risk for severe weather across nearly all of Indiana, and areas of Illinois, Ohio and Michigan.

At one point on Sunday evening, tornado watches were active in Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.  Those have all since been canceled or allowed to expire.

Stay with Newsline 9 for updates as this severe weather situation impacts portions of the United States through Sunday night.  A radar of the region is available here.
