Kronenwetter police warn of "sweepstakes" scams

Posted:

Kronenwetter police are warning people of "sweepstakes" scams.

Police say the scam is a way to get large amounts of money out of victims. The scammers claim to be from "Publisher's Clearing House" trying to deliver a brand new car. But the caller says fees need to be paid before the car is shipped.

Kronenwetter police say a victim of this scam did send money.

If you are contacted by these scammers, you are urged to call police.
