Sheriff: Woman found dead traveling with boyfriend

Posted:

GALLOWAY (WAOW) - A 43-year-old woman found dead in a semi-truck near Galloway had been on trip with her boyfriend and had just returned home when he found her unresponsive in the sleeper of the truck, Marathon County Sheriff Scott Parks said Monday.

What caused Cynthia Lozier's death won't be known until toxicology tests related to an autopsy are completed, Parks said. He expects those within two weeks.

Lozier and her boyfriend had been on an over-the-road haul in the truck early Thursday when they arrived home in Galloway about 4 a.m., Parks said. Lozier was in the truck's sleeper compartment.

"They had just pulled in and that is when he noticed she was not responsive," the sheriff said. The boyfriend immediately called 911, he said.

No evidence was found at the scene suggesting how Lozier died, but alcohol could be a factor, Parks said, declining to elaborate. No blood-alcohol levels have been released, he said.

"There is no indication of foul play on anything right now," the sheriff said. “This incident may have not occurred in Marathon County.”

Parks did not have details on where the truck traveled from Thursday before arriving in Galloway.
