Operation Bootstrap in Stevens Point provides for the needy


Operation Bootstrap in Stevens Point has kicked off its annual fundraising campaign.

The volunteer agency provides food, clothing, and shelter to the needy.

"We hope to bring in $385,000 now until January," said Roseann DeBot, director of Operation Bootstrap.

DeBot said about 500 community members will benefit from the turkeys which are being given out in food baskets this week.

"Some people realize they don't have enough food for Thanksgiving. Others, their food stamps have run out for the month. Then there is a very real need in the community that continues to exist in general," explained DeBot.
