Alcohol may be factor in Lincoln Co. crash

Alcohol is thought to be a factor in a crash Tuesday night in Merrill, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department.

Officials say the two vehicle crash happened around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 51 and Lincoln Drive. They say a pick up truck was driving west across U.S. 51 and went through a stop sign. A car driving north on the highway hit the truck. Officials say the drivers were the only two in either vehicle.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital but the extent of their injuries are currently unknown. Officials believe alcohol is a factor for the driver of the truck.

Lincoln County deputies, Merrill Police officers, Merrill Fire Department and the Lincoln County Highway Department responded to the crash.
