Festival of Trees kicks off in Rothschild

A popular holiday tradition lit up the evening in Rothschild.

The Festival of Trees kicked off Tuesday at the Stoney Creek Inn.

About 40 decorated trees were up for auction to raise money for Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Other items were also for sale.

Many of the trees had themes to them.

Newsline 9's tree was decked out in green and gold for the Green Bay Packers.

"It's a tradition of Wausau and people here and they sort of get in the Christmas spirit and they buy a little wreath or a little tree or they just come and they donate their money from buying their ticket to get in and just and just enjoy everything," said Danielle Weiland, Festival of Trees chair.

Newsline 9 is a proud sponsor of this event. The event runs until Sunday.
