Winter weather affects holiday travelers

WAUSAU (WAOW) -

Snow and slick roads affected travel plans in Central Wisconsin early Thursday morning.

Although the snow stopped in the afternoon, ice had formed on the roads, making Thanksgiving travelers extra cautious while driving.

"Slow just driving really really slow the entire time just hope the ice doesn't catch us by surprise," said Alexa Wendt of Wausau.

Travel experts say traffic is slow today as people celebrate the holiday, but they expect it to increase again throughout the weekend.
