Two northern Wis. men face oxycodone charges

MADISON (WAOW) – Two northern Wisconsin men face federal charges of distributing the drug oxycodone, U.S. Attorney John Vaudreuil said Thursday.

A grand jury indicted Brandon Vetterneck, 37, of Lac du Flambeau with two counts and Derek Armstrong, 28, of Lac du Flambeau with one count, the prosecutor said in a statement.

Oxycodone is a narcotic commonly prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain.

The indictment alleges Vetterneck distributed the drug on April 10 and 17 and Armstrong distributed the drug on June 13, Vaudreuil said.

The maximum punishment for each count of distributing oxycodone is 20 years in federal prison, the prosecutor said.
