Driver hits Eagle River squad car

VILAS COUNTY (WAOW) - Vilas County Sheriff's Department officials say a driver hit a squad car Saturday afternoon because of a medical condition.

Authorities say someone reported the person was driving all over the road in Eagle River around 6:30 p.m. They say an Eagle River Police Department officer saw the car in the wrong lane, forcing other drivers off the road.

Officials say the officer was not able to get the driver to stop. They say the officer then pulled in front of the car to get it to slow down, when the driver rear ended the squad car causing an accident.

Authorities say no one was injured and no names are being released at this time.

They say the cause of the erratic driving was found to be medically related.
