WAUSAU (WAOW) – With winter's grip firmly on central Wisconsin, Sylvan Tubing Hill in Wausau will open Friday at 6 p.m.
The regular weekend hours will be Friday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the Wausau and Marathon County Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.
The hill includes two hills with three runs on each and a heated chalet with concession stand and fireplace. Riders must be at least 42 inches tall. Tubes are provided.
Admission is $6 for children 13 and younger and $8.50 for people 14 and older, Recreation Superintendent Karyn Powers said.
Forecasters say the current cold snap, with a predicted high Wednesday of only -2, should break by Friday with daytime highs reaching 20 degrees.
