Wausau accepts property donations

WAUSAU (WAOW) -     Wausau City Council voted to accept multiple property donations Tuesday night.

The City Council Finance Committee voted to accept the donation of Grand Avenue Kwik-Trip property. City leaders said that donation was contingent on the city not turning the property into another gas station, adult store, or tobacco or alcohol outlet.

The City Council voted to accept the donation of two homes. One property is on Chicago Avenue and the other is on Stark Street.

City leaders say property donations like these are not common and they cannot accept all property donations. They said federal grants, not Wausau tax dollars, will help pay for developing these properties.
