Marshfield family puts special flair in Christmas card

Many families are getting into the holiday spirit, which often includes sending Christmas cards. For their card, the Bymers family in Marshfield decided to recreate the Nativity scene, but with a twist.

"The kids were all together, so we could do it," said Nancy Bymers. "We wanted to do an unique Christmas card. Something different. Something we could send out a lot of."

The family dressed up as angels, shepherds, wise men, and Mary and Joseph. Bymers used thrift store sheets, Halloween angel wings, and aluminum foil for the costumes.

It wasn't just the family who got involved with the picture. The photo also included a couple dogs, a llama, and a cow.

Bymers says she's very pleased with the final product.

"It wasn't easy," said Bymers. "I'm pretty happy that everyone was looking at the camera and no one had their eyes closed and the animals looked as well as they did. Maybe next year we'll add some more animals. Who knows?"

With this card, Bymers says she hopes to remind people of the two things that matter most.

"Family and the true meaning of Christmas," she said.

The Bymers family is in the process of mailing the cards to their friends and family.
