Multiple cars hit in Target parking lot

WESTON (WAOW) -     A driver is in custody after police say he hit several cars in the Target parking lot.

Everest Metro Police tell Newsline 9 the owner of the vehicle was in the store when the passenger took off in the SUV.

The officer said the driver hit several vehicles at Target in Weston and then headed southbound on Schofield Avenue.

The driver continued down Camp Phillips Road, where police say he hit another vehicle.

"As I attempted to stop it, another vehicle pulled to the side of the road, seeing my emergency lights to yield to me, this vehicle struck the back of that vehicle and we were able to take the driver into custody at that time," said Everest Metro Officer Scott Martin.

Officials say they believe alcohol is a factor.

      No one was hurt.
