UPDATE: Woman hurt in fire dies of natural causes

FRIENDSHIP (WAOW) - The Adams County sheriff says a 77-year-old woman hurt in a late October fire that killed her 79-year-old husband and another man has died, too.

Sheriff Sam Wollin said Joann Peak's death was not a result of injuries she suffered in the Oct. 28 fire that started in a camper and spread to a nearby home in the Town of Easton.

A medical examiner determined her death was from natural causes, Wollin said Friday.

FRIENDSHIP (WAOW) – The Adams County sheriff says the second person killed in a late October fire was 55-year-old James E. Boone.

Boone was positively identified by DNA evidence this week, Sheriff Sam Wollin said Thursday.

The early morning fire Oct. 28 started in the camper where Boone was living and spread to a nearby home in the Town of Easton, killing 79-year-old Ronald G. Peak and injuring his 77-year-old wife, Joann Peak, Wollin said.

The cause of the fire has been listed as undetermined.

Boone had been living in the camper for some time and was a friend of the Peaks, Wollin has said.
