D.C. Everest grad goes far in singing competition

We first told you about the D.C. Everest graduate making a big splash on stage earlier this week.

Christina Lewis was competing in what's basically American Idol for the Army.

The singer made it to the top six on "Operation Rising Star." A singing competition that features military family members from across the world. But, her journey ended Thursday. Lewis didn't get enough votes to continue. But she says the experiences she had made it all worth it.

"I really don't know that my singing career would have gone anywhere," said Lewis during a phone interview. "This has opened up so many doors and given me so many opportunities."

The shows finale will be taped Friday. It will air Saturday. If you want to watch it click here: www.oprisingstar.com
