Giving Store opens at elementary school

Posted:

Students at Newman Catholic St. Mark Elementary in Rothschild are sharing in the giving spirit.

Through Tuesday they are buying Christmas presents for their families.

The money raised from the sale of the gifts will go to support charities in central Wisconsin.

Volunteers have helped the pre-kindergarten through 5th graders select and wrap their gifts.

There are 130 students at the school.

Organizer Lisa Beck says it is a great way to kick off the holiday season.

"We have music and it is very festive. It is a way for the students to come together and think about their families and the charities they want to give to," said Beck.
