Pair in pot candy case plead not guilty

WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) – Two people arrested following a traffic stop in Marshfield in which 12 pounds of marijuana and some marijuana-laced chocolate candy were seized pleaded not guilty Tuesday to multiple felonies.

No trial date was immediately set, according to Wood County online court records.

Aaron Keuntjes, 25, of Auburndale, was charged with five felonies, including manufacturing and delivering marijuana and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

Alyssa Clapper, 23, of Marshfield, was charged with six felonies, including manufacturing and delivering marijuana and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

Both waived their right to a preliminary hearing before entering pleas, court records said.

The pair were stopped in separate cars Nov. 19 and investigators seized an estimated $88,000 worth of marijuana, some of it within homemade chocolate candy, police said. The stops were made after investigators said they received a tip.

Keuntjes and Clapper are free on $10,000 cash bonds, court records said.
