Wood Co. man accused of killing kitten

WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) - A Wood County man is facing criminal charges after investigators say he killed his sister's cat.

Brian Sentkowski, 25, has been charged with mistreatment of animals and criminal trespassing.

Wood County court records say Sentkowski went to his sister's house on the 390 block of Sandy Lane in the town of Saratoga on Nov. 27.

Investigators say he did not have permission to be there. They say Sentkowski was upset no one was home and was upset with himself for drinking.

Court records say Sentkowski took out his frustration on an orange and white kitten with a knife, killing it. Those documents say he then threw the kitten's body away in a ditch across the street from the home.

Wood County Sheriff's Department officials say Sentkowski originally denied being in the home. But they say he later admitted to killing the cat.

Sentkowski is set to appear in Wood County court for an initial appearance in January. If convicted of both charges, he could face up to four years behind bars.

Sentkowski does not have an attorney listed. He is currently in the Waupaca County jail.
