Galloway woman died of alcohol-drug overdose

GALLOWAY (WAOW) - A 43-year-old woman found dead in a semi-truck near Galloway died of an accidental overdose of drugs and alcohol, Marathon County Sheriff Scott Parks said Thursday.

Cynthia Lozier's blood-alcohol level at the time of her Nov. 21 death was 0.396 percent – nearly five times the legal limit to drive, Parks said.

Other prescription medication and illegal drugs were also found in her system, the sheriff said in a statement. He did not elaborate.

The results of the investigation and autopsy did not indicate any foul play,” he said.

Lozier and her boyfriend had been on an over-the-road haul in the truck Nov. 21 when they arrived home in Galloway about 4 a.m., Parks said. Lozier was in the truck's sleeper compartment when the boyfriend found her unresponsive and he called 911.

Galloway is in extreme southeast Marathon County.
