Wausau football coaches react to Rodgers injury

WAUSAU (WAOW) - High school coaches in Wausau are reacting to the latest injury update on quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In a press conference, Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy said Aaron Rodgers was not medically cleared to play. Coaches from the area shared their insight about what may be going on behind the scenes.

"[McCarthy] probably knows obviously what's going on and they probably knew a long time ago what's going on," said Newman Catholic High School Football Coach Paul Michlig. "Because truth is, head guys know and they probably make those decisions too."

The coaches say they think the Packers staff has reacted well to the injuries this season.

"As far as Matt Flynn coming in, it's professional football, these guys have to come in and pick each other up and I think he's doing a good job," said Wausau West High School Football Coach Kevin Grundy.

The Packers play their final home game of the season on Sunday against the Steelers.
