Posted:

Marshfield police have released the name of the woman who was hit by a train Friday night in Marshfield.

Police say 58-year old Lavonne Lindner was the sole occupant of the car hit by a train. Police say she remains in the hospital. Hospital officials say she is in good condition.

Sheriff's officials say the crash happened just before 6:00 p.m. Friday. They say a sedan was driving south at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Veterans Parkway in Marshfield when it was hit by a train. Police say Lindner failed to stop properly.

The train crossing north of the intersection of Maple Avenue and Veterans Parkway was scheduled to remain closed for traffic until traffic control systems at the intersection could be fixed, sheriff's officials said Friday evening.
