Volunteers preparing 45th Community Christmas Dinner

Posted:
WAUSAU (WAOW) - Volunteers at one Wausau church are busy preparing their 45th annual Community Christmas Dinner.

Organizers say they expect about 200 people to enjoy the meal at the church and nearly 300 more will have the meal delivered to their homes.

Volunteers at First United Methodist set tables and made gift bags for the guests, which will be given to them by Santa.

"It's nice to have people who either are lonely or have no one else on Christmas to know that they can come and be with people and see Santa and have a nice dinner," said Barbara Hunger, the Community Christmas Dinner Coordinator.

The free meal begins at noon on Christmas day. Those who come at 11:30 a.m. will get to enjoy music entertainment.
