WAUSAU (WAOW) -
It's a gift you can't wrap and one that doesn't fit under the Christmas tree.
A Weston woman stopped at the R-Store on Grand Avenue in Wausau to fill her gas tank when she encountered a friendly stranger. They exchanged some words about the weather and when she went up to pay for her gas, she says the most extraordinary thing happened next.
"He turned around to me and said 'Merry Christmas." And then I went up to the clerk and I was going to pay my bill and she says it's all taken care of. He paid for both cars.'" said Mary Ann Martin.
The generous stranger paid for her gas, a price tag of $67. Martin says she is sharing her story to remind people that the giving spirit of Christmas is alive and well. She plans to pay the act of kindness forward.
