UPDATE Camper wrecked following rollover

No one was hurt after a pickup truck pulling a camper rolled near Edgar and both ended up upside down, wrecking the camper, which was being pulled by "snowbirds" leaving the area for the winter, an investigator said.

The crash happened on state Highway 29 about 7:30 a.m. Thursday when the driver lost control, Marathon County Sheriff's Lt. Fred Goch said . The truck and the camper ended up in a ditch.

Roads in the area were icy at the time, he said.

The camper was ruined in the crash and in trying to tip it back on its wheels, Goch said. It took several hours for the scene to be cleared.

Investigators described the travelers as "snowbirds" who were taking the camper to a warmer climate but no other details were available Thursday, Goch said.
