Fire chief: Could take months to identify victim in Weston fire

Posted:
WESTON (WAOW) - Everest Metro Police Department officials say it may take months to identify the victim who died in a mobile home fire. They say the cause of death has not been determined, but that it appears to be related to the fire.

Weston Fire Chief Steve Meilahn told Newsline 9 on Tuesday that the person who died is a woman in her 30s. The fire happened at Green Acres Trailer Park early Monday morning.

Two of the woman's teenage daughters and an 18-year-old male friend were able to get out, authorities said.

Fire officials say the investigation is done, but the official report for a cause is expected next week.

Newsline 9 will continue to follow this developing story.
