MILWAUKEE (AP) - An anonymous donor is pledging $10,000 in matching funds to help three young children whose parents were involved in a murder-suicide before Christmas.

Milwaukee police say 26-year-old Dontavion Smith shot his 26-year-old girlfriend Janie Jefferson Dec. 19 in their south side home, before killing himself.

Milwaukee Alderman Bob Donovan helped start the charity drive and says he was contacted by the anonymous donor Monday. He says the donor will give up to $10,000 in matching funds.

Donations can be made at any branch of the Tri-City National Bank under the Jefferson Orphan Fund.
