GREEN BAY (WAOW) -
The final minute of Sunday’s game between the Bears and Packers was as thrilling as it can get.
It's those moments that the Green and Gold will look back on as they move forward toward the playoffs.
It's a familiar sight we've seen from the Packers this month – dramatic finishes in do-or-die scenarios.
"I got to give our guys credit for fighting through some difficult periods in the season, putting us in a position to be right here, to be the Division Champions, host a home playoff game, this has been a wild season, there's a lot of stuff that's happened," said Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers faced three fourth-down situations in the Packers' final drive Sunday. Head Coach Mike McCarthy said the players wanted to take the risk.
"That was an emotional decision by the players and that's important. You do want your players to grab on to it and take it and make them part of it because ultimately they're the ones doing it, so I loved the fact that they wanted to go for it,” said Coach McCarthy.
With a spot in the postseason, the Packers host San Francisco, who earned the NFC's fifth seed in thrilling fashion.
While the Packers have lost their last two meetings with the 49ers, McCarthy says these last few weeks have prepared them to be in a playoff mindset.
"I don't know how we can be better prepared for playoff football than what we've been through the last four weeks. I take our four week experience over everything," McCarthy added.
Now the Packers hope that experience pays off on Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field.
