WAUSAU (WAOW) -
One Wausau family is ringing in the new year with a baby boy.
Kim and Bruce Steder welcomed Bryce Alec into the world at 9:05 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces.
He was the first baby born at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in 2014.
The parents say Bryce came two weeks early, but it was a happy surprise.
"It's going to be just a special birthday, especially because he was supposed to be born on the 13th," said Bruce Steder. "Here we have a very healthy baby that the doctors said he was fine that he came early."
The parents say doctors delivered Bryce by C-section.
They say Bryce is their second child. Their oldest is two years old.
