Packers prepare for Sunday by practicing in frigid temps

GREEN BAY (WAOW) - The Packers held their first full practice of the week Thursday ahead of Sunday’s wild card match-up with the 49ers.

Even though both teams have started the on-field preparations, the difference is that Green Bay's practices are taking place outside in these cold temperatures, while San Francisco is practicing in 60-degree weather.

The forecasted game-time temperature on Sunday just keeps dropping and could be below zero-degrees

The last time the Packers played a playoff game in sub-zero conditions was in 2008, when Green Bay lost to the Giants in the NFC Championship.

Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers says playing in the bitter cold is all about having experience with it.

“You get kind of used to it. Dealing with it, you figure out how to throw the ball effectively in it. You figure out what are the most important things to keep warm, and that's your head and your hands. It definitely does change the texture of the football so you have to factor that in when you're tossing the ball to the back, or when you're throwing it, you have to make some small adjustments," said Rodgers.

The Packers take on the 49ers at Lambeau Field at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
