WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) -
A Wood County man is facing 30 years in prison after being charged with physically hurting a child.
Sebastian Suchomel, 21, is charged with two felonies for abusing his then one-month-old baby, court records show.
Those records say a doctor determined the baby had, “three fractured ribs on the left side, a fracture in his arm below the elbow, a fracture in the left arm above the forearm and a possible fracture to his left leg below the knee.”
The doctor found the injuries were not natural, according to court documents.
Reports show police talked to Suchomel, who told investigators he may have swaddled the child too tight. Records also say that he told police he grabbed the baby by the arm and leg and flipped him.
“The defendant stated that when he did this, he heard a pop and that [the child's] left arm went limp,” Wood Co. court records show.
Suchomel is currently in custody on a $10,000 bond.
A message left for his attorney was not immediately returned.
