Businesses to close early due to extreme cold

Some area business owners have opted to close their doors early due to the extreme cold.

The owner of the IGA Quality Foods in Rib Mountain said his store planned to close at 7 p.m. Monday.

"It is a safety issue, we don't want our customers driving and we don't want our employees to have to worry about whether their cars will start. We have a lot of 16 and 17 year olds working here. That would not be a good idea," said store owner Jason Fritsche.

The Pick 'N Save stores in Weston and Kronenwetter have signs posted that they will close at 8 p.m. Monday.

The stores plans to be open for business as usual on Tuesday.
