More flu cases reported across Wisconsin

State health leaders say they are seeing more hospitalizations reported due to the flu.

A state research analyst tells Newsline 9 they are also seeing more people hospitalized in intensive care units because of the flu.

Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston report 24 cases confirmed through lab tests in the past week.

"We are seeing more H1N1. That is the same virus we saw during the pandemic of 2009," said Paul Thomas, RN who is an Infection Preventionist.

Thomas said it is not too late to get vaccinated.

"That is your best prevention," said Thomas.

He also advises you to wash your hands, cover your cough, and to clean areas shared with other people often.
