STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -
A Wood County organization won $10,000 in a nationwide contest.
The Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation was a finalist in Sentry Insurance's $10K for a Cause Campaign. The foundation finds homes for abandoned horses. The winner was announced at a check presentation ceremony in Stevens Point Thursday. People voted on Facebook.
"It gave the organizations an opportunity to get exposure as well as to earn $10,000 for the cause of their organization," said Jim Weishan, the Sentry Insurance Foundation president.
The other four finalists split another $10,000 check between them.
