Truck and train crash creates propane leak in Price County

PRICE COUNTY (WAOW) - Price County Sheriff's Department officials say a small amount of propane leaked from the tank of an LP truck after it crashed with a Wisconsin Central Limited train.

Officials say they are investigating the crash at the railroad crossing on N. River Road in the Township of Knox in Price County.

According to officials, the crash happened Saturday morning. They say the LP truck overturned as a result of the crash with the train. Officials say the valve on the back of the truck was damaged, allowing propane to leak from the tank.

Price County Sheriff's officials said no one was evacuated as a result of the leak.

The driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The driver's condition is unknown.
