Man wanted in Lincoln Co. found in Milwaukee

LINCOLN COUNTY (WAOW) -- A former Merrill man wanted for making and delivering methamphetamines was arrested Thursday morning in the Milwaukee area, Lincoln County Sheriff's Department officials said.

They say Christopher Meindel, 37, cut off his ankle bracelet in May of 2013 and ran away.

Authorities say Meindel has been linked to 46 methamphetamine labs in the Town of Corning.

They say he was found in a parking lot of a hospital in Milwaukee and told someone he was armed. Sheriff's officials say two air soft handguns and methamphetamine were found on him.

Officials say Meindel was then taken into protective custody. They say he refused to tell them who he was, so he was fingerprinted.

That's when warrants through Lincoln County were found.

Meindel is being held in the Milwaukee County Jail, as prosecutors review charges there. Then he will be brought back to Lincoln County to face charges.
