Candlelight Snowshoe Hike in Rib Mountain draws hundreds
Hundreds of snowshoers hit the trails on Rib Mountain Saturday night.
The Friends of Rib Mountain State Park hosted the Candlelight Snowshoe Hike.
About 400 candles led the way for more than 300 snowshoers.
Organizers encouraged both novice and veteran snowshoers to attend.
Those new to the activity could borrow shoes and receive helpful tips on how to get started.
"It's always a very lively event and people get to meet people and run into their neighbors and people come with their friends," said Karen Graff, event co-chair. "It's just a really fun event. We have a really good time putting it on too."
The trail was about 1.5 miles long.
Organizers say the event is more than a decade old.
