Skiers reach new heights at Granite Peak

RIB MOUNTAIN (WAOW) - Some skiers at Granite Peak reached new heights on the slopes Sunday.

The Bag Jump was set up over the weekend for riders. The inflatable bag is what Olympic skiers use to train for jumps. A snow ramp was also formed around the bag. Organizers say the bag is a safe way to try some new tricks.

"If they want to get that feeling of flight and have a safe landing and not be possibly landing on some hard ice,” said Adam Pirtz, a Bag Jump representative. “You know it just depends on the conditions, but this is definitely a safer way to get that feeling."

Each turn on the jump cost $5, or $25 for the day. The Bag Jump will be coming back to Granite Peak in mid March, for anyone who missed it over the weekend.
