WAUSAU (WAOW) - Martin Luther King Jr. was remembered here in central Wisconsin.

The North Central Area Congregations Organized to make a Difference held their annual banquet Monday night. It's the fourth year for the event. Each year an organization is honored. This year, Catholic Charities was recognized for their warming center. Organizers say it's fitting to celebrate well in the community on a day to honor Dr. King.

"To have the opportunitiy because our focus is social justice, it's so apros pos to be able to tie in with the anniversary of his special day," said NAOMI member Ron Alexander.

Open Door was also recognized for providing a welcome waiting place for those just released from jail.
