Wausau music controversy committee meetings begin

WAUSAU ( WAOW) - A Wausau School District music advisory committee met for the first time Tuesday night.

The committee was formed after the holiday music controversy that began in October of 2013. It's goal is to make a policy for song choices for school choirs. The 20 member committee includes music teachers, community members, and parents.

"We looked at our key interests as a district and decided which of the eight interests fit with our work about putting together a policy to advise the whole district," said Nell Anderson, the director of education elementary.

The committee will meet four times during the next two months.
