Man charged in 2012 Clark Co. heroin death

NEILLSVILLE (WAOW) – A 27-year-old LaCrosse man was charged Friday with supplying heroin in the death of a 19-year-old Neillsville woman more than a year ago.

Reavon Taylor was charged with first-degree reckless homicide in Clark County Circuit Court, according to online court records.

Taylor supplied the heroin that killed Monica Cooper of rural Neillsville on Dec. 17, 2012, said Jason Bourget, a detective with the Clark County Sheriff's Department.

An autopsy determined she died of a heroin overdose, Bourget said.

No new recent developments led to the arrest of Taylor, Bourget said.

The investigation just took that long to complete,” he said.

Taylor is being housed in the LaCrosse County Jail and will be transported to Clark County at a later date, Bourget said.
