RIB MOUNTAIN (WAOW) -
The Badger State Games continued over the weekend with another round of events.
Skiers filled Granite Peak in Rib Mountain for slalom and downhill slalom alpine skiing. Other events in the area included archery and the new event Crossfit.
Organizers say events like skiing give athletes another opportunity to put their skills to the test.
"Being up in the Midwest, ski racing is something that's pretty big,” said Mark Gajewski, the Badger State Game's commissioner. “We've got Nastar, USSA, sanctions that all run programs. Badger State Games is just one of the things that gives them another option to race."
The third round of events including cross country skiing and ice skating will be next weekend.
