RIB MOUNTAIN (WAOW) -
As more winter weather heads toward central Wisconsin, Wisconsin State Patrol officers are preparing for messy roads, and they're advising drivers to do the same.
Sergeants say patrol officers are already on major highways like U.S. 51 and Highway 29, making sure they are ready to respond if a slide off or crash happens.
Officials advise drivers to prepare now for the wintry conditions.
"Definitely plan ahead with this one because the roads are still wet out there,” said Sgt. Bryan Wrycha of Wisconsin State Patrol. “Leave yourself enough time and notify people at your destination when to be expected or when you're leaving."
State Patrol will be at full staff when the weather hits. They are also working with sheriffs department to prepare for any crashes.
