Crimestoppers: Fishing shanty break-ins

MARATHON COUNTY (CRIMESTOPPERS) - Marathon County Crime stoppers is trying find the people responsible breaking into multiple fishing shanties on Lake Wausau and on the Eau Claire River and stealing property.

Officials say multiple ice fishing shanties have been broken into on Lake Wausau and the Eau Claire River within the greater Wausau area this winter. They say shanties have been damaged and property was stolen from within them. Items stolen include an ice auger, television, gas cans, lights, and fishing equipment.

People who own fishing shanties which are left on the ice are reminded to remove all property from the shanties when you are not there.
