ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) -
Gun ammunition dealers say the shortage they were seeing last fall is over for most ammo types, but they're still seeing a scarcity of bullets for .22 rifles.
At a gun show in Rothschild on Sunday, people scoped out new equipment for hunting and shooting.
Hunters saw an ammo shortage right before deer gun season in November.
Dealers say they don't know why .22 bullets are still so scarce, but it's driving prices up.
"Bricks used to be 500 rounds," said Robert Pucci, the director of the Bob and Rocco Gun Show. "I see them now at 350, 375 a box, but at the same price, so there's a major shortage of .22 long rifle ammo and nobody can tell us why."
Some .22 ammo was available at a gun show in Rothschild on Sunday.
