Two crashes back up traffic in Marathon Co.

MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -- Two separate crashes have backed up traffic in Marathon County, according to the Rothschild Police Department.

Officials say both crashes happened on Highway 29 near Rothschild.

For one crash, authorities say a truck was heading westbound when the driver hit ice and lost control, hitting the guard rail and spinning around.

Authorities say a car trying to avoid hitting the truck and was hit itself by a dump truck. They say the driver of the car had non-life threatening injuries.

Farther down the road, officials say two other cars crashed into each other. They say no injuries were reported, as it was a minor fender-bender.

Both crashes are being cleaned up right now. Authorities say the scenes should be cleared up soon.
