Classes resume for central Wisconsin schools despite cold

Posted:
WESTON (WAOW) - The cold may not be completely gone, but school is back in session for students in central Wisconsin.

On Monday and Tuesday, school was canceled in many districts.

At D.C. Everest Middle School, officials say they're still being extra cautious.

They say they will not have outdoor recess unless the temperatures rise above zero.

"We just ask parents to remind to send students in those warm coats and all the warm clothing that they have," said Casey Nye, the principal of D.C. Everest Middle School. "If there are needs that maybe we don't know, if they let us know we definitely want to be able to help out."

School leaders say they also make sure bus routes are running smoothly.
