Slick roads mean busy tow trucks

MARSHFIELD (WAOW) - The Draxler's have been in the tow trucking business for more than 60 years.

January has been a busy month for the family owned and operated business. Stores manager say almost 300 calls from stranded drivers have come in within the last month. On snowy days, driver Paul Draxler says the business will receive dozens of calls from drivers in distress.

"Today, pretty much been one of our average snow days that we've been having. Calls coming in steady,” says Draxler.

Draxler says the process is routine. His sister will get the call, her husband gives him the location of the vehicle and Draxler will set out to help the stranded motorist. He says once he arrives on the scene, it takes him 10 to 20 minutes to get a vehicle back on the road.

Draxler says using common sense while driving is key.

"When you get snow days like today. You know definitely drive slower, give yourself more time. You know, just be prepared."
